Lovely day! Mid November midweek hike from a deserted trail head. I still haven’t done a coilover review of this car so I better get on that soon. The road to get here was a wild race track but the car handled it well. Then I had a great hike with some lovely views of the surrounding mountains and San Fernando Valley below. Here are some pics:
Bit of smog in the valley of course, otherwise I might have been able to see all the way to the ocean from up there. There were signs and pads indicating that this was a popular paragliding launch point. So it had plenty of exposure and a wide view of the area. This meant it would also be a terrible place to hike in the summer heat. Even now in November it was warm in the sunlight but it was only 65. Overall a lovely day that actually felt like fall for once. Definitely worth making that drive after dropping off the miata cylinder head nearby. Now I shall suffer through the waiting game of getting parts before I begin reassembly. At least in the mean time I still have some places to explore with a very fun car.
Also, side note I enjoyed seeing another example of my car on NPOCP. I think mine is a bit cleaner (even with way more miles) but considering the market it was definitely fairly priced depending on the condition of the headgasket. Reading the discussion on it was funny though with how people just don’t get the market and probably don’t get why the GD cars really are special.
